About Me
Well I will keep this brief as you will learn more about me as we work collaboratively together- the important person is you, but a short history...
I started playing competitive rugby league from the age of 5 working up to a high semi-professional level when I was lucky enough to gain a 12 month contract playing for a second division side however to be honest once money became involved that was one of the worst 12 months of my life. I left to return to amateur status playing at international and regional level before retiring through injury at age 28. In my playing days I was 16.5 stone, chest 46 inches and waist 34 inches, able to run the 100 metres in 11.6 seconds (note these facts for comparison below)
From 28 to 38 I spiraled into the lifestyle so many individuals face- clerical work, long hours, working away from home, lunchtime drinking and horrific diet. Weekends would find me eating way to much but also drinking far to much alcohol. I couldn't run for a bus, weighed 17.5 stone and had crept up to a 48 inch chest and 42 inch waist.
The turning point in my life was the sudden death of my mother, this was not in my scripy let alone the family, at this juncture I can now tell you my father is serverly disabled with Multiple Sclerosis and I am his full time carer (not an ounce of complaint neither!) with this responsbility I gave up drinking alcohol, took control of my work life balance and decided it was time to change.
I bought a bike, joined a gym and began a healthier life- a great first step but honestly I was clueless. I read numerous magazines, googled the web and took all advice I could- wrong move as everybody tells you different and advises various potions, programmes and quick fixes.
I have learnt the hard way that you need to listen to advice from everybody but follow the advice of the few trusted sources, consider carefully what sports supplements you swallow and to lead a healthy life is in fact very simple- surround yourself with other postive people on the same journey.
I have numerous marathons, half-marathons, triathlons, duathlons and endurance achievements under my belt and have learnt so much in the last 8 years mostly through trial and error.
I have coached and mentored over 200 people through the council couch to 5k programme, coach both adults and juniors in athletics and triathlon with a firm belief in doing the work together naturally. I now weigh 11 stone, waist 28 inches and chest 38 inches and feel healthier and fitter than I did at 21.
Nutrition wise, I am now powered naturally through FOREVER LIVING products read more
