Preston Pedalfest Major Success

The first Preston Pedalfest Sportive was an outstanding success and well organised by Epic Events.

Over 200 riders tackled the cheeky short 36 mile tester and the horrific 70 mile hill climbing route out from Preston through Mellor and into the spectacular landscape of the Ribble Valley and Trough of Bowland.

I led three newbie Sportive riders around the short course to give them a helping supportive hand and introduction to the wonderful events known as a Sportive.

These events are social, friendly cycling routes with the emphasis on enjoyment not racing.

I was proud of all three who did a sterling job but more impressive was their desire to 'do another one' two of whom have already booked the 'Ride of the Roses' in September.
